Doha, Feb 5: Karnataka Sangha Qatar successfully organized the ‘Ladies & Children Talent Show 2025', with events held on January 10 and the grand finale on January 17 at the Indian Cultural Centre, Doha. The event also featured Makara Sankranti celebrations, adding a festive touch to the grand finale.

The finale was graced by chief guest Dr Abhilasha Singh Panwar, senior education specialist at the Ministry of Education, Qatar, and guest of honor Sandhya Bhatt from the embassy of India. The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, and the venue was beautifully decorated with natural yields like vegetables and sugarcane plants, giving it a true Sankranti festive ambiance. As part of the celebrations, Ellu Bella was distributed to guests and attendees as a symbolic tradition of Makara Sankranti.

In his presidential address, Ravi Shetty welcomed the gathering, commended the participants, and shared inspiring messages for children, emphasizing values such as truth, good deeds, and staying grounded. He highlighted the importance of cultural heritage and the innocence of childhood as they grow.

The judges, including Sushma Harish, Arun Kumar, Madhu H K, Manjunath Raghavendra, Avlin, Shreelakshmi, Vishnu, Pooja Jiten, Jayashree Sridhar, Ganeshan Sathyasheelan, Prachi, Shafeeq, Kotteswari, and Vaishnavi, were honored with mementos as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution. Chief guest Dr Abhilasha and guest of honor Sandhya Bhatt were felicitated with a silver jubilee shawl and memento.

In her address, Dr Abhilasha commended KSQ for its exceptional efforts in preserving cultural heritage and emphasized the importance of staying connected to one’s roots while living abroad. She also stressed the role of events like these in promoting soft skills, family bonding, and cultural awareness among children. Sandhya Bhatt congratulated Karnataka Sangha Qatar on its silver jubilee milestone and praised the efforts of all participants and organizers.

Bhuvana Suraj, the ladies and children coordinator, was specially acknowledged for her outstanding leadership and dedication in ensuring the success of the event. She also proposed the vote of thanks. The event’s MC, Sridhara Chandra, entertained the audience with his humor, while cultural secretary Soumya KT, Kannada Development in-charge Bheemappa, and joint secretary Bhavana Naveen conducted the event segments, including the judges’ felicitation, group dance, and Jodi Hakki competitions.

The two-day event showcased exceptional talents across singing, dancing, mono-acting, and rangoli competitions. A notable highlight was 4-year-old Dhvani Tejasvi, who amazed the audience by reciting the names of 195 countries and their capitals. Male members of KSQ delivered a hilarious medley dance choreographed by Soumya KT, as a dedication to the ladies and children.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Indian cultural centre vice president Subramanya Hebbagelu, advisory panel chairman Mahesh Gowda, advisory panel members Arun Kumar, Deepak Shetty, Madhu H K, Dr Sanjay Kudari, and many former committee members. Presidents and committee members of Karnataka-based ICC Associate Associations were also present.

Medals and certificates were distributed to all winners during the prize distribution ceremony, conducted by Kannada Development in-charge Bheemappa, environment & logistics secretary Shashidhara, joint secretary L G Patil, and joint cultural secretary Bhavana Naveen. The entire event was efficiently coordinated by general secretary Kumar Swamy and ladies & children coordinator Bhuvana Suraj, with support from president Ravi Shetty, vice president Ramesha, treasurer Pradeep Kumar, public relations & benevolence lead Dinesh Gowda, sports secretary Sarfraz, and several dedicated volunteers.

The event was a grand success, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and cultural pride among the Karnataka Community in Qatar.
