Mangaluru: 11 accused, including Prasad Attavar, granted bail in massage parlour attack case

Mangaluru, Feb 5: The second additional district and sessions court in Mangaluru has granted conditional bail to 11 accused, including Prasad Attavar, who were arrested in connection with the attack on ‘Colours Unisex Salon’ at Bejai on January 23.

Members of the ‘Rama Sene Karnataka,’ led by Prasad Attavar, had allegedly raided the salon located at Aditya Complex near KSRTC, accusing it of engaging in illegal activities. The attackers vandalized furniture and were booked under charges including attempt to murder and dacoity, based on a complaint filed by the salon owner at Barke police station.

Following the complaint, Barke police registered an FIR and arrested a total of 14 individuals, including Prasad Attavar. They were produced before the sixth JMFC court in Mangaluru on January 24, which remanded them to judicial custody.

Subsequently, Prasad Attavar and others filed bail applications before the second additional district and sessions court in Mangaluru. Defense counsel Mayur Keerthi presented arguments on February 1, after which the court reserved its order. On February 5, the court granted conditional bail to 11 of the accused, including Attavar.
