Bengaluru, Feb 7: The Karnataka Regional Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) review meeting took place at the Subodhana Regional Pastoral Centre in Bengaluru, bringing together diocesan BEC secretaries to conduct a comprehensive review of their activities. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, and facilitated by Fr. Maxim Dias, regional secretary.
The primary focus of the meeting was evaluating the progress of BECs across the region. Diocesan BEC secretaries presented detailed reports on their activities over the past six months, highlighting both achievements and challenges. A key topic of discussion was the alignment of BECs' efforts with the broader Regional Pastoral Plan, ensuring their work supports the Church's mission. Following extensive discussions, a regional action plan was finalized, incorporating valuable feedback from participants. Another key decision was made to develop a practical handbook in Kannada, which will serve as a guide for BEC activities.
