Police detain overloaded trucks transporting black metal

Curtorim, Feb 9: Acting on a complaint of overloading and non-compliance with transport regulations, Maina-Curtorim police on Saturday detained three heavy-duty trucks carrying black metal.

The vehicles were intercepted following a complaint by social activist Freddy Travasso, who alleged that the trucks were operating without mandatory safety measures, including tarpaulin covers to prevent dust pollution and spillage.

Responding swiftly, the police directed the drivers to park the vehicles at the Sao Jose de Areal police outpost for further inquiry. Travasso expressed hope that authorities would take necessary action against the violators to ensure compliance with transport safety norms.
