Mangaluru, Feb 9: The Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) team at Wenlock Hospital, led by Dr Suresh Pai, has once again demonstrated exceptional medical expertise by successfully removing a massive foreign body from a 12-year-old boy’s chest.
The boy, a migrant from Assam working in Madikeri, suffered a severe injury after a fall at around 7.30 pm on February 8. A wooden piece had pierced his neck and lodged in his chest. He was brought to Wenlock Hospital at about 12.15 am following the trauma.
The life-saving surgery was performed between 1.30 am and 3.30 am on Sunday, February 9. During the procedure, the team removed the huge wooden piece along with a broken steel chain. The boy is now recovering well after the surgery.
The district surgeon and superintendent of Wenlock District Hospital has praised the remarkable efforts of the CTVS team, along with the OT staff and anesthesia team, for their dedication in saving the young boy’s life.

Mon, Feb 10 2025If you want Government hospitals to be top hospitals in India the make it compulsory that all the MLA's , MP's , MLC's are admitted to ONLY government hospitals and not private hospitals. When you make this a rule then all the Government hospitals will become top and best hospitals in India. Wherever these politicians visit , that place always has high priority eg : Airports , Municipal Corporation area , Vidana Soudha , Raj Bhavan etc.... every other place which is regularly visited by high profile politicians always goes through tremendous improvement. Its very important that if you want places to improved then make sure these politicians are a part of these places.

Mon, Feb 10 2025Idea is great but not practical. In a democratic ree market Govt can't control people's choice. How about this people should understand the responsibilies of MP, MLA, DC, Mayor....etc and hold them responisble for not or under performing.

Sun, Feb 09 2025Many bravos to weinlock hospital for this brilliant surgery and saving life’. These days medical cares in govt hospital leaves a lot to be desired. Patient is attended to immediately and complex surgery is done saving young man life . Once my uncle Jamal is having batty foreign body while doing vaccum cleaning he slipped accidentally and bit of vaccum got stuck , he went to district hospital and they not having facilities to treat and also laughing at patient. It was tough time finally he had to go to private hospital there also initially they not believing him but later he got proper treatment and recovered. It is surely milestone for wenlock hospital and congratulations to all the team involved in treatment and best wishes to patient

Sun, Feb 09 2025Congratulations to the medical teams performance this complex surgery, they is to be highly appreciate. Wenlock hospital although government it is funded via missionary network and important god work is done on the side for the enticement of sona masuri , all is good for poor peoples. Excellent work by doctors saving the life . In my town most foreign body removal is usually gold bars from the sigmoid of icchas after Kalandoor administers anaesthetic for 2000 rs luncha.

Sun, Feb 09 2025Well done doctor and the team. Usually government hospital doctors do not have good reputation for various reasons. This doctors team did a real good achievement. Hope this will set an example for all other doctors in providing noble services.
