US, Feb 13: The United States is set to deport a second batch of 170-180 illegal immigrants to India. These individuals, who had entered the US through illegal routes, including "donkey routes," have been residing there for the past one to three years after paying significant amounts for their journey.
While official confirmation from Indian authorities is still pending, sources within the US administration have suggested that the deportation may take place as soon as this week. The first batch of deportees had landed at Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar, but it remains unclear where the second group will be received.

This deportation coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Washington for high-level talks with US president Donald Trump. Earlier this month, 104 Indian migrants were deported from the US, with deportees mainly from Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat. A US military C-17 plane was used to transport the migrants back to India.
The deportees will be subject to background checks and verification by Indian authorities, with a particular focus on identifying any individuals with criminal backgrounds before they are allowed to return to their hometowns.
