Nephro Care India launches ‘Mukti’ wellness programme for holistic healthcare

Kolkata, Feb 17: Deepak Parekh-backed Nephro Care India Limited (NCIL) has unveiled its flagship health and wellness programme, Mukti, at Vivacity Multispeciality Hospital in Madhyamgram. Designed to promote overall well-being, the initiative integrates ancient yogic wisdom with modern medicine.

Mukti, a decade-old initiative, has already reached over 8,000 individuals suffering from ailments such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes, hypertension, and autoimmune disorders.

The latest launch introduces three specialized programmes:

?? Renoguard 360 – For kidney patients and those undergoing dialysis.
?? Diaguard 360 – Addressing diabetes-related health concerns.
?? ReShape 360 – Targeting obesity management through lifestyle interventions.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Pratim Sengupta, senior nephrologist and MD & CEO of NCIL, emphasized the need for preventive healthcare over reactive treatment. “Today, healthcare has become ‘sick care,’ where people visit hospitals only when they fall ill. Mukti aims to change this by focusing on both therapeutic and preventive wellness, ensuring physical and mental well-being,” he stated.

With non-communicable diseases (NCDs) contributing to 52% of fatalities in India, the initiative is particularly relevant, considering the country’s rising diabetes (82 million cases) and obesity rates (40.3%).

NCIL is also exploring partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers to expand Mukti through a franchise model, making holistic healthcare accessible to a wider population.
