Udupi, Feb 17: Padubidri police have registered three cases in connection with a viral video circulating on social media, featuring minor boys near the Hejmady railway track.

The video, which went viral, showed two minor boys allegedly involved in stealing items belonging to the railways. Following the video's circulation, the boys' father filed a complaint at the Padubidri police station, accusing railway staff of assaulting the minors. The video also showed the boys with a scooter.

Since the railway premises fall under the jurisdiction of the railway department, legal action will be taken against the minors involved, based on a report submitted by the legal division of Konkan Railway.

Additionally, acting on a complaint filed by the father of one of the boys, the police have registered a case regarding the alleged physical assault on the children. Legal action will also be initiated against the father for allowing minors to operate a two-wheeler.

As the case involves minors in conflict with the law, it is essential to adhere to the regulations set by the Supreme Court and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Failure to comply with these legal provisions will result in appropriate legal consequences for those involved, stated the Udupi police department.
