Viveik Out of 'Shootout At Wadala'

Mumbai, Jan 14 (IANS): After keeping Sanjay Gupta waiting for long, Viveik Oberoi is finally out of "Shootout At Wadala". The actor has now signed on to essay a role in Bejoy Nambiar's "David".

"Me and my co-producer Balaji Telefilms just got tired of waiting for Viveik to make up his mind. What we didn't understand is why Viveik chose to give us the impression he loved the script and that he was on. Anyway, we already have a very strong alternative in mind. We'll make the announcemement soon," said Gupta.

Now the role of Dawood Ibrahim lies vacant in Gupta's film. So far the actors on board are John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Ronit Roy and Shakti Kapoor's son Siddhant, who makes his debut.

In the meantime, Viveik has signed "Shaitan" director Bejoy Nambiar's "David", in which he will play one of the protagonists. However, contrary to reports, Viveik doesn't play a gangster in "David".

Nambiar confirmed the development in his film, which already has Tamil star Vikram and Tabu in the cast.

Gupta has wished the director good luck for the movie.

"We've the highest regard for Bejoy. In fact, I loved his 'Shaitan' and rooted for the film when I was part of an awards jury this year. I wish him well with Viveik," he said.
