D K Shivakumar to participate in Congress Kutumbotsava at Karkala on March 2

Udupi, Feb 26: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to participate in Congress Kutumbotsava to be held at 4 pm in Gandhi Stadium, Karkala on March 2.

Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty, Congress leader, addressing the media in the press meet held on February 26, said, “Deputy CM D K Shivakumar will be taking part in the Kaup Sri Hosa Marigudi prathisthapana on March 2 at 11 am, after serving the anna prasadam he will be returning to udupi district Congress office. At 2 pm through a vehicle rally he will travel to Karkala and participate in the Congress Kutumbotsava event.”

The oath taking ceremony of 209 booth, 34 rural Congress and two block Congress bearers in Karkala assembly constituency will be held on the day.

Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Dr Veerappa Moily will be felicitated for successful competition of 50 years as a political leader, at the Congress Kutumbotsava. In addition, felicitation to achievers from various fields, oath taking of office-bearers and cultural programme will be held on the occasion.

The event is expected to gather 10,000 to 15,000 people. Various Congress leaders, such as Ramanath Rai, Abayachandra Jain, MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, Mithun Rai, Gopal Poojary, Prasad Raj Kanchan, Dinesh Hegde Molahalli, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, District president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, MLC Manjunath Bhandary, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Jayaprakash Hegde, Padmaraj Poojary, and others will attend this event.

The press meet was attended by president Udupi Taluk guarantee scheme implementation committee and Udupi block Congress leader Ramesh Kanchan and Congress leader Krishnamoorthy Acharya.
