Thane man allegedly bites off friend’s ear during argument at party

Thane, Feb 27: In a shocking incident, a Thane resident has been accused of biting off a part of his friend's ear during a heated argument at a party. The altercation occurred in the Patlipada area on Wednesday morning, leading to serious injury.

According to the official from Kasarvadavali Police Station, Shravan Leekha (37) filed a complaint stating that he and the accused, Vikas Menon (32), were enjoying a party with friends when the two got into a dispute. During the altercation, Menon allegedly turned violent and bit off a piece of Leekha's ear, which he then reportedly swallowed.

Leekha was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment following the brutal assault.

The police have filed a case against Menon under Section 117(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to voluntarily causing grievous hurt. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
