Dr Sudha Yadav named Karnataka governor as president Murmu announces major reshuffle in six states

New Delhi, Oct 12: Dr Sudha Yadav has been appointed the new Governor of Karnataka as President Droupadi Murmu on Monday announced a major reshuffle of gubernatorial appointments involving six states, including transfers of serving governors and fresh appointments.

Alongside Karnataka, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Sikkim will see changes in their gubernatorial leadership under the latest appointments.

Braj Mohan Ram has been appointed Governor of Odisha, while Dr Dhal Singh Bisen has been named Governor of Uttarakhand.

Om Prakash Mathur, who is currently serving as the Governor of Sikkim, has been appointed Governor of Kerala.

Meanwhile, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the incumbent Governor of Kerala, will take over as the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

Dushyant Gautam will succeed Mathur as the Governor of Sikkim, completing the changes involving the six states.

The reshuffle includes new appointments to Karnataka and Odisha, along with the reassignment of serving governors to different states and appointments to other gubernatorial positions.

According to the announcement, all appointments will take effect from the dates on which the appointees assume charge of their respective offices.
