Chennai, Mar 1 (IANS): Bollywood actor Rahul Bose, who portrayed the Commanding Officer of Major Mukund Varadarajan in Rajkumar Periasamy’s film Amaran, revealed that he was deeply moved by the movie, admitting to tearing up at least 10 to 11 times while watching it.
Speaking at an event celebrating the film’s successful 100-day theatrical run, Bose lauded the film’s ability to seamlessly balance intense action with a compelling love story.
"I don’t think I have seen a movie that so delicately straddles the tightrope between action and love. To have spectacular action sequences and an emotionally gripping love story in the same film is incredibly difficult. Rajkumar, you not only pulled it off, but you did so with precision, patience, and quiet confidence. You have a bright future ahead of you,” he said.
Addressing lead actor Sivakarthikeyan, Bose praised his authentic performance. “Sivakarthikeyan, there’s so much truth in your acting. When an actor is real on screen, you can’t take your eyes off them. The moment they become false, the connection is lost. You held my attention throughout.”
He also expressed admiration for the film’s lead pair, Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, emphasizing their on-screen chemistry. “The way this film comes together and rises above the screenplay is due to your incredible relationship on screen. I watched the movie twice—something I rarely do—and I must have cried at least 10 to 11 times.”
Turning to Sai Pallavi, Bose showered praise on her performance. “Sai Pallavi, I don’t need to say politically correct things—you are incredible. Though I didn’t get the chance to act alongside you in this film, I hope our paths cross in the future so we can share screen space.”

Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, was produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, Sony Pictures International Productions, and R. Mahendran.
The film is a biopic based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award, for his sacrifice while leading the Cheetah company of the 44th Rashtriya Rifles in an anti-militancy operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film features music by G. V. Prakash, cinematography by C. H. Sai, and action sequences choreographed by Anbariv and Stefan Richter.
