Mumbai, Mar 2: Actress Genelia Deshmukh, who recently rejoiced in the victory of her Pickleball team, Pune United, in the latest season of the World Pickleball League, is now beaming with pride over her son Riaan’s impressive drumming skills.
On Sunday, Genelia took to Instagram Stories to share a video of Riaan playing the drums, expressing her surprise and admiration for his unexpected musical talent.

In her post, she revealed that Riaan had initially enrolled in an after-school drumming class at Ascend Speaks, merely to pass the time while waiting for his brother’s football practice. However, what started as a casual engagement turned into a remarkable skill.
"A few months ago, I put my son for an after-school drums class @ascendspeaks only because he had to wait for his brother, who had a football class," she wrote. "And today, I saw him play the drums like a pro… HOW???"
Genelia credited the teachers at Ascend Speaks, particularly Radhika Rajgarhia, for bringing out the hidden potential in her son.
"Thank you @linfomation and @radhikarajgarhia for making me see this," she wrote, adding that a good teacher not only helps a child recognize their talent but also helps parents see it too.
"You are that person for me... @ascendspeaks is the best - truly!” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the actress, who has worked across multiple film industries, recently spoke about her interest in venturing into OTT platforms.
Talking to IANS, she shared, “I would love to explore the OTT space. For me, whether it is short-format or long-format, what matters is the connection with my audience.”
Having acted in films across languages before the pan-India movement gained momentum, she reflected on her journey, saying, "I started doing South films way before it became a trend, and I’m very proud of it."
Genelia, a strong advocate of sports, also spoke about the growing interest in various sports in India, beyond just cricket.
"I’ve always loved sports and wished for better infrastructure and encouragement for athletes. Today, we see people embracing diverse sports, which is fantastic. As a sports enthusiast and a mother to a sports-loving child, this change is truly inspiring," she said.
With her multifaceted interests spanning acting, sports, and now music, Genelia continues to inspire her fans both on and off the screen.
