Udupi, Mar 5: A notorious rowdy sheeter and member of the Garuda Gang caused a series of accidents in Manipal while attempting to evade the police. The Nelamangala police from Bengaluru were tracking him in connection with a robbery case. During his escape attempt, he damaged four vehicles.
The rowdy sheeter has been identified as Isaac, a member of the Garuda Gang.
A dramatic police chase unfolded on the DC office road in Manipal as the notorious criminal attempted to flee.

The Nelamangala police had arrived to apprehend Isaac for his involvement in a criminal case. Upon spotting them, he tried to escape in his vehicle, leading to a high-speed chase. The police pursued him relentlessly and alerted the Manipal police for assistance. Acting swiftly, Manipal police inspector Devaraj and his team joined the operation.
During the chase, Isaac crashed into four cars and a two-wheeler while trying to evade capture. He was eventually intercepted near Mannapalla in Manipal. A young woman was found in the vehicle with him. While police sources indicate that he has been taken into custody, an official confirmation is still awaited. The woman accompanying him has reportedly been detained for questioning.
Both the Manipal and Nelamangala police are conducting further investigations into the case. The chase was captured on CCTV cameras in the area, revealing the reckless driving and series of collisions. Two police vehicles from Bengaluru were also damaged during the operation.
Providing details about the incident, Udupi superintendent of police Dr Arun K said, "Nelamangala police had come to Manipal to trace the accused, Isaac. During the operation, Issac, along with his girlfriend, drove recklessly, ramming into several public and police vehicles. He managed to escape from the spot and drove some distance before abandoning his vehicle due to technical damage. He then fled along with his girlfriend.
A case has been registered at the Manipal police station. Isaac is currently absconding, while his girlfriend is in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Special teams have been formed to trace the accused Isaac."
