Udupi: Fire breaks out near NH-66 bypass, creates panic

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Mar 7: A sudden fire near the Karavali Bypass on National Highway 66 in Udupi created a tense situation for a while.

The fire accidentally broke out in a private plot adjacent to the highway, where dry grass and waste materials had accumulated.

Local residents and the Udupi Fire and Emergency Services team rushed to the spot and worked together to douse the flames. Due to a shortage of water, private water tankers were also used in the firefighting efforts.

A scrap shop and a private hotel were located near the fire-affected area. If the fire had spread further, it could have resulted in significant losses.

Further details are awaited.
