Udupi, Mar 20: Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, in collaboration with the centre for studies on healthy aging and the Manipal College of Health Professions, will organise a free health screening camp for senior citizens aged 60 and above. The camp will be held on March 21 and 22, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on the 3rd Floor of Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi.
This initiative builds upon previous successful screenings, where hundreds of senior citizens benefited from early detection and preventive care. The comprehensive screening will include vision and hearing tests, memory and mental health evaluations, balance and fall risk assessments, diabetic foot screening, and functional ability assessments.

Dr Shashikiran Umakanth, medical superintendent of Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Dr G Arun Maiya, dean of the Manipal College of health professions, and Dr Sebestina Anita D’Souza, coordinator of the centre for studies on healthy aging, also highlighted the importance of community-based health initiatives for aging populations and emphasized the impact of such programs: "Ensuring the well-being of our senior citizens requires proactive healthcare. This screening camp is not just about detecting health issues early but also about educating and guiding seniors toward better health management. Many older adults have greatly benefited from similar screenings in the past, and we encourage all eligible individuals to take advantage of this opportunity."
Senior citizens and their families are encouraged to participate in this free screening to ensure continued good health and well-being.
