Mangaluru, Mar 20: A series of accidents occurred near PVS Circle after a car, reportedly losing control, moved in reverse and collided with multiple vehicles on Thursday, March 20 evening.

The car, which was coming from City Centre Mall towards PVS, is said to have mistakenly been put into reverse gear while shifting gears, causing it to move backward unexpectedly.

In the process, the car hit several vehicles approaching from behind, damaging three to four cars and an autorickshaw. Following the incident, the driver of the car reportedly fled the scene.

Further investigations are underway.

A moving car cann't engage in reverse gear be it manual / auto / electric. This story is in-complete. Looks like car was stationary at the traffic light near PVS and when wanted to move by mistake put the reverse gear. This could be the case. Jai Hind.

Maybe the fault of mg electric vehicle. These vehicle having electric gear knob is very dangerous. Person must have just turned the gear knob without confirming the gear engaged. And delay in the electricals must have caused it

It looks like it is a mistake on the part of the driver to mistake first gear for reverse gear. Such accidents occur in many modern-day cars, and sometimes, first and reverse gears are confusing! Always drive safely and carefully. Do not lose your concentration while driving and drive safely
