Chennai, Mar 21: England all-rounder Sam Curran is determined to make a strong case for his national team comeback by delivering an impactful performance in the upcoming IPL 2025 season for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Having been left out of England's recent international campaigns, Curran views the IPL as a crucial platform to showcase his skills and prove his worth ahead of major tournaments. Speaking ahead of the season, the left-arm pacer and explosive batter expressed his eagerness to contribute to CSK’s title aspirations while also catching the attention of England selectors.
"The IPL is a great stage, and playing for a champion side like CSK always brings out the best in me. My focus is on performing well here, and hopefully, that will lead to an England recall," Curran said.
The 26-year-old was a key figure in England’s T20 World Cup triumph in 2022 but has since seen limited opportunities in the national setup. His all-round abilities, however, remain in high demand, especially in the fast-paced T20 format.
With IPL 2025 set to feature top international talents, Curran's performances for CSK will be closely watched. If he can deliver with both bat and ball, an England recall may not be far away.
