Bengaluru, Mar 21: Chief minister Siddaramaiah firmly stated that there would be no protection for anyone involved in the alleged honey trap case, as the controversy sparked heated debates in the state Assembly.

The issue was raised by opposition leader R Ashoka, along with BJP MLAs Araga Jnanendra and V Sunil Kumar, as well as minister K N Rajanna. They demanded swift action, including the dismissal of those involved and a judicial inquiry.

Minister Rajanna, who first brought the allegations to light, claimed that political rivals had attempted to entrap him. In response, home minister G Parameshwara assured that a high-level probe would be conducted if Rajanna filed a formal complaint. He also clarified that no names had been mentioned, making direct action difficult at this stage.

The controversy intensified when BJP MLA N Munirathna alleged that deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar was orchestrating the honey trap network. "I know your team and when you meet them. You have a family too—do not stoop to such levels," he said, directly addressing Shivakumar.

As the allegations and counterclaims escalated, emotional exchanges marked the Assembly proceedings, with leaders across party lines calling for a thorough investigation to uphold the dignity of public representatives.
