Moodbidri, Mar 23: Adani Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the Adani Group, has extended a grant-in-aid of Rs 25 lacs to Sri Mahaveera College, Moodbidri, to support its infrastructure development. The esteemed institution, founded by the Academy of General Education, Manipal, has been a pillar of higher education in the region.
The grant cheque was formally handed over by Kishore Alva, executive director & president of Adani Group, to Dr Radhakrishna, principal of Sri Mahaveera College, and K Abhayachandra Jain, former minister and chairman of the College Governing Council.


Speaking on the occasion, Kishore Alva emphasized that the grant underscores Adani Foundation’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and enhancing educational infrastructure. He acknowledged the college’s long-standing contribution to higher education and its role in shaping future generations.
"Sri Mahaveera College has been a beacon of knowledge and values for decades. Through this initiative, we aim to strengthen its infrastructure, promote student development programs, and enrich academic resources. Supporting education, especially in rural areas, is at the heart of Adani Group’s vision for community empowerment," Alva stated.
He also highlighted and applauded the significant contributions of the Academy of General Education, Manipal, under the leadership of T Satish U Pai, Dr Ranjan R Pai, and Dr H S Ballal, in advancing quality education across institutions. The grant aligns with Adani Foundation’s broader mission to uplift rural education and drive holistic community development.
Welcoming the support of Adani CSR, K Abhayachandra Jain expressed happiness on Adani CSR in the field of education, health and infrastructure development in rural areas. He said that the grant will further strengthen the educational journey of Sri Mahaveera College.
