Mangaluru, Mar 23: A delegation led by central president Alwyn D'Souza Paneer honored MLC Ivan D'Souza.

A felicitation programme was held in Mangaluru on Saturday, March 22, by Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh (R) to congratulate MLC Ivan D'Souza for presenting a new proposal in favor of minorities during the legislative council session.

On March 21, Friday, Ivan D'Souza submitted a new proposal to the Karnataka government as part of the ‘Karnataka Public Procurement Transparency Amendment Bill 2025,’ urging that 4% of government construction contracts be reserved for minorities under category 2B. This proposal ensures that members of the Catholic Christian community also benefit from the 4% contract reservation and calls for the inclusion of Catholic Christians under category 2B.

Recognizing this significant proposal, the central office-bearers of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh (R), including president Alwyn D'Souza Paneer, vice president Steven Rodrigues, secretary Alwyn Prashanth Monteiro, immediate past president Stany Lobo, former president Paul Rolfie D'Costa, former central secretary Wilma Monteiro, zonal presidents Santosh D'Souza Bajpe, Lawrence D'Souza Surathkal, Arun D'Souza Shaktinagar, Alwyn D'Souza Moodbidri, and Moodbidri unit president Ronald Serrao, met Ivan D'Souza to express their gratitude and honor him.
