Bhopal, Mar 23: A tragic accident occurred early Sunday morning when a passenger bus overturned in the Raman Pur Valley, within the Bargi police station area of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The incident claimed the lives of three people, including a woman, and left 33 others injured.

The bus, which was traveling from Ayodhya to Nagpur, lost control between 4:00 a.m. and 4:50 a.m., according to police reports. Two passengers died on the spot, while a woman later succumbed to her injuries during treatment at Lakhnadaun Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Subham Meshram (28) and Amol Khode (42), both from Nagpur, and Malamma (45) from Hyderabad. The passengers had been returning from Ayodhya when the accident occurred.

As the bus approached Raman Pur Valley, the driver apparently lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. After the crash, the driver fled the scene, and police have initiated a search for him.

Emergency services worked swiftly to rescue those trapped inside the bus, with the injured being transported to various hospitals in Seoni and Lakhnadaun for treatment. City Superintendent of Police Anjul Ayank Mishra confirmed that 14 of the 36 passengers were hospitalized, though none of their injuries were life-threatening. The rest of the passengers were discharged after receiving initial care.

The cause of the accident has been linked to the road’s dangerous conditions in the area, particularly the road's sharp gradients, which are a known hazard. The Raman Pur Valley stretch, often referred to as ‘Khooni Ghati’ by locals, has witnessed several accidents in the past. Authorities are addressing the issue, and improvements are being made to prevent future tragedies.
