Ghaziabad, Mar 28: A devastating boiler explosion at a textile factory in Dateri village, under the Bhojpur police station area of Ghaziabad, claimed the lives of three workers and left six others injured on Friday. The tragic incident, which occurred around 5 am, has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns over safety measures within the factory.
Upon receiving information about the blast, police rushed to the site and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, while the injured were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The victims have been identified as Yogendra from Modinagar, Anuj from Bhojpur, and Awadhesh from Jewar. Panic spread through the factory following the explosion, with workers scrambling for safety as chaos ensued. The factory is primarily engaged in manufacturing cardboard rolls.
According to eyewitness accounts, workers were performing their usual tasks when the boiler suddenly exploded, trapping several individuals nearby. Speaking to Daijiworld, Anuj’s brother Sachin Kumar alleged severe negligence on the part of the factory management.
“Work is carried out illegally in this factory, and there are no proper safety measures. My brother has been working here for three years, and today this tragedy occurred. We demand strict action against the factory owner,” Kumar said.
Another worker, Lucky, who survived the incident, shared his experience, stating, “The furnace was on, and excessive heat built up in the compressor, but no one noticed. There were minimal safety measures, and negligence led to this accident.”
Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and have vowed to take strict action against those found responsible for the mishap. Meanwhile, the incident has drawn attention to the pressing need for enforcing safety standards in factories to prevent such tragedies in the future.
