Nagpur, Mar 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for its century-long contribution to national service and development. Addressing a gathering at the foundation-laying ceremony of Madhav Netralaya’s new premises in Hingna, Modi, with Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat by his side, reflected on RSS’ journey since its inception in 1925.
Emphasizing India’s commitment to humanitarian aid, Modi credited RSS values for the nation’s swift response to global crises. He cited the recent "Operation Brahma," which sent relief to Myanmar after a devastating earthquake, along with previous aid efforts for Turkey, Nepal, and the Maldives. “Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, India treated humanity as one family by supplying vaccines to the world,” he noted.

Modi underscored RSS’ role in shaping a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India), acknowledging its volunteers’ tireless work in disaster relief and religious gatherings. He also reiterated his government’s efforts to shed colonial legacies, citing the renaming of Rajpath to Kartavya Path and the replacement of the British-era Indian Penal Code.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat reflected on the organization’s century of service, while Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis congratulated Madhav Netralaya for its new facility, praising RSS’ service-driven initiatives.
