Glenn Phillips to Miss IPL 2025 season due to groin injury

Daijiworld Media Network - Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Apr 12: Gujarat Titans all-rounder Glenn Phillips will miss the remainder of the IPL 2025 season due to a groin injury sustained during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Phillips had entered as a substitute fielder during the final over of the powerplay but pulled his groin muscle while attempting a throw. After receiving treatment, he was helped off the field.

“Gujarat Titans wish Glenn a speedy recovery,” the franchise said in a statement.

Acquired by GT at the 2024 mega auction for Rs 2 cr, Phillips had not played before the injury. His absence adds to the Titans' current challenges, with fast bowler Kagiso Rabada also unavailable for personal reasons.

Currently top of the points table with four wins and one loss, GT, led by Shubman Gill, faces Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) next, followed by a home game against Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 19.
