Mangaluru, Apr 12: The second annual Gurupura Kambala was inaugurated in a grand ceremony on Saturday under the leadership of KPCC secretary and state Congress leader Inayath Ali.

Sri Harinarayana Dasa Asarannaru of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple flagged off the event and appreciated the initiative, stating, “Tuluvas, no matter where they are in the country, never forget their roots. Through Kambala, one can experience the rich cultural traditions of Tulunadu.”

Kambala committee patron Gunapal Kadamba lauded Inayath Ali and his team for organizing the event with all modern and cultural amenities, calling it a well-executed celebration of tradition.

Presiding over the event, Gurupura Kambala convener Inayath Ali stated that Kambala is a sport beyond caste, religion, and sects. “Kambala is closely tied to the lives of farmers in Tulunadu. This is our effort to revive the historical spirit of the Kambala once held in Gurupura since ancient times. With everyone’s cooperation, we are successfully organizing the event for the second consecutive year,” he said, expressing hope that this would be a festival of harmony.

Several dignitaries from various fields attended the Kambala and extended their best wishes.
