Stars of Chhorii 2 open up about the fears that haunt them most

Mumbai, Apr 13: As anticipation builds for the horror-comedy Chhorii 2, lead actors Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan took a break from the scares on screen to share the fears that truly haunt them in real life.

In an exclusive interview, Soha Ali Khan offered a deeply personal look into her biggest fear — the sudden loss of loved ones. Known for her powerful roles in films like Rang De Basanti, Soha revealed, “What terrifies me most is untimely death — not for myself, but the people I love. I genuinely enjoy life and the company of those close to me. The idea of losing them, or them losing me, is unbearable. Death feels so final — like a full stop to the kind of communication we have now. I’ve already lost people I loved dearly, and knowing it’s an inevitable part of life only makes it more frightening.”

Co-star Nushrratt Bharuccha echoed similar emotions, sharing her own reflections on mortality. Surprisingly candid, the actress said she feels at peace with the idea of her own death, but it's the loss of others that unsettles her.

“If I were to die tomorrow, or a month from now, I’d be okay with it,” Nushrratt admitted. “I’ve lived a good life and have no regrets. What truly scares me is outliving someone I love — knowing they’re no longer part of my world while I continue to move through life. That loneliness, that void — that’s the fear that stays with me. I want the people I love to be there, through it all.”

Chhorii 2, a sequel to the 2021 hit, blends horror with humor and also features Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma. The film is set for a global premiere on Prime Video on April 11, 2025, and will stream in over 240 countries and territories.
