Thivim, Apr 15: A major demolition drive commenced on Monday in Lala Ki Basti, Madel-Thivim, where over 22 illegal structures erected on Comunidad land are being razed, in compliance with a High Court directive.

The operation, targeting unauthorized houses and encroachments, was initiated by the concerned authorities with heavy police presence to maintain law and order. Officials confirmed that around 23 structures have been earmarked for demolition.

“Demolition has started at Lala Ki Basti in Thivim, with nearly 23 structures set to be demolished,” said the Comunidad attorney, reiterating the legal mandate behind the action.

The authorities ensured the demolition work proceeded smoothly and without untoward incidents. The drive is expected to span the coming days until the area is fully cleared of unauthorized construction.
