YCS Angelore to celebrate glorious 25 years with Maxim Nite on Apr 20

Media Release

Mangaluru, Apr 17: The year 2000 will be written in golden letters in the annals of Guardian Angel Church, Angelore. The enthusiasm of four youths, eager to make their mark on the world, led to laying the foundation of Young Catholic Students (YCS) movement – an international movement of youth that is the guiding light for the youth studying in PUC – in the parish, with the blessings of Fr J B D’Souza, the then parish priest. Juliana Mascarenhas, a teacher by profession, led the pack as animator.

Over the years, the Angelore unit of YCS has groomed nearly a thousand adolescents, laying a strong foundation to their future. Year after year, the members of the Unit have won prizes in the events organised by the deanery and diocesan YCS, making them a force to reckon with.

Fast forward 2025. Today, the YCS Movement of Angelore is on the threshold of celebrating its silver jubilee. They are celebrating this grand occasion on Sunday, April 20. Past members from across the globe are converging to Angelore to witness this memorable occasion. The celebration also includes the 16th volume of Maxim Nite, presented by ex-parishioner and renowned singer Maxim Pereira with Band Gmajor. To add spice to the Nite, the household name Memori will be cracking hilarious jokes. The dance troupe Urban Groove will enthral the audience with their mind blowing dance performance.
