Chennai, Apr 17: Renowned Tamil actor and politician Sarathkumar has lauded the recently released Telugu film ‘Court: State Vs A Nobody’, directed by Ram Jagadish, calling it a "must-watch."
Sarathkumar took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share his thoughts on the film. He wrote, “Watched the Telugu film ‘COURT’ last night, an excellent film with a much-needed message to society in general. It is about youngsters, adolescence, parenting, and above all, understanding the law. A quote from the film, 'An uneducated person should also know law,' was enlightening. There is a lot more in the film that teaches analytical decision-making, instills a never-give-up attitude, and ultimately reminds us that 'Truth will prevail.' Kudos to the entire team, well steered by director Ram Jagdish. A must-watch film!”
The film, which has been presented by popular Telugu actor Nani, focuses on the misuse of the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act), and has garnered widespread appreciation, especially from men’s rights activists.
In a previous interview, director Ram Jagadish revealed that the idea for the film originated when he came across a real-life case of POCSO misuse. He shared, “When I learned about that case, I began wondering if this could really happen. Over time, I found that there were many more such cases. I researched several POCSO cases, especially from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, reading through numerous case files. I decided to weave these real-life instances into one cohesive story, and that’s how this film came to be.”
‘Court: State Vs A Nobody’ is a courtroom drama that also features a beautiful love story. It delves deep into the complexities surrounding the misuse of the POCSO Act, and has garnered attention for its sensitive portrayal of societal issues. Priyadarshi stars in the lead role, with the film being produced by Prashanthi Thipirneni under the banner Wall Poster Cinema, presented by Nani.
The film, which hit the screens on March 14, continues to spark discussions for its bold storytelling and relevant message to society.
