Mumbai, Apr 18: Veteran actor Anupam Kher has stepped back into the director’s chair after a gap of 23 years, marking a heartfelt return with his upcoming film Tanvi the Great.
Taking to Instagram, the 70-year-old actor shared an emotional post with a picture of himself wearing a t-shirt that read “Director – Tanvi the Great.” Recalling his first directorial Om Jai Jagdish, Kher said while he had enjoyed the experience and had the ability to direct, it wasn’t a story that came from within.
“This time, it’s different,” Kher wrote. “The story of Tanvi The Great is out of my heart and soul… Life has taught me so much in these past 23 years.”
Announcing the film on April 1, Kher had mentioned that Tanvi The Great is not just a fictional story, but one that feels very real and personal. “Not sure how to start publicity for this… but our Tanvi is not imaginary! She is real!” he said, hinting that he would keep sharing stories and updates leading up to the film’s release.
Fans and industry colleagues poured in support, applauding Kher for his passion and creative spirit as he returns to direction with a film that holds deep personal meaning.
