Arijit Singh postpones Chennai concert in solidarity after Pahalgam tragedy

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 24: In a gesture of respect following the Pahalgam terror attack, superstar vocalist Arijit Singh has opted to cancel his slated performance in Chennai this Sunday, April 27. Announcing the decision via Instagram Stories, the singer shared an official statement from event organizers explaining that both he and the promoters felt it inappropriate to proceed amidst the national mourning.

Ticket-holders need not worry about out-of-pocket expenses: full refunds will be automatically processed to the original payment method, with any further questions directed to events@district.in.

The Pahalgam assault, claimed by The Resistance Front—an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba—saw gunmen separate tourists by faith before opening fire, leaving over twenty dead, including a brave local who attempted to wrest the attackers’ weapon. In response, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a measure denounced by Pakistan as “water warfare,” while the global community rallied in condemnation—except for Canada among G7 nations.

By postponing his concert, Arijit Singh joins a wave of artists and organizations choosing solidarity over showmanship, ensuring the focus remains on honoring the victims and standing against the scourge of terror.
