Mangaluru, Apr 25: The 22nd quinquennial Uroos of the renowned Sayyid Madani Dargah commenced with great devotion and participation at the Ullal Dargah premises. Presiding over the event, Indian Grand Mufti A P Aboobacker Musliyar stated that prophets, Ambiyas, and Auliyas hold a unique and sacred position in Islam, possessing extraordinary spiritual powers. He emphasized that prophets and Ambiyas fought against adversaries to spread the message of Islam, and Allah had bestowed upon them divine strength.

Speaking at the event held in the name of Khuthbuz Zamaan Hazrat Sayyid Muhammad Shareeful Madani Thangal, Musliyar noted that the spiritual power of Auliyas is comparable to that of the prophets. He stressed the importance of reading their history to understand their achievements and added that true growth in faith (Iman) comes through remaining within religious frameworks. He described it as a pious act to educate society about the contributions of prophets and Auliyas.

Udupi Qazi Abdul Hameed Musliyar, who inaugurated the programme, said that Islam is the only religion accepted by Allah, as stated in the Holy Quran. He highlighted that the 1,24,000 Ambiyas who came to this world rendered services for Islam and credited the development of Ullal to the spiritual legacy of Sayyid Madani Thangal.

Dargah president Haneef Haji, in his introductory remarks, appealed for collective support to ensure the success of the Uroos celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker U T Khader said that the Ullal Dargah is not only a religious centre but also a symbol of brotherhood that attracts people of all faiths. He praised the Dargah’s role in promoting both religious and secular education, attributing Ullal’s development to this dual focus. Referring to the recent tragedy at Pahalgam in Kashmir, he expressed the collective condemnation of Ullal’s people and urged the central government to provide an appropriate response. He added that even a small act of kindness should never be forgotten in life and remarked that the Ullal Dargah has now become a centre of education and social awareness. He hoped the month-long Uroos would serve to pass on cultural heritage to future generations.

Sayyid Attavulla Thangal led special prayers (Dua) during the event. As part of the inaugural activities, Zikr Halqa, Dargah Ziyarat, and the distribution of sweet beverages were conducted.
