Karnataka BJP demands neutralizing sleeper cells before targeting Pakistan

Bengaluru, Apr 25: The Karnataka BJP has called for the neutralization of sleeper cells within India before any further actions are taken against Pakistan, amid growing concerns over national security.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP office in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, R Ashoka, emphasized that addressing internal threats is paramount. "Before targeting Pakistan, we must focus on neutralizing the sleeper cells operating within our own country," Ashoka said.

He also criticized Congress leaders for questioning the nation's armed forces and their commitment to security. "Whom do they trust if not the soldiers?" Ashoka asked, adding that it is vital for the country to unite in condemning terrorist attacks.

Referring to recent terrorist attacks that targeted and killed individuals based on their Hindu identity, Ashoka condemned those who criticize the soldiers or dismiss concerns about espionage. He questioned the accountability of Congress leaders on previous national security lapses, citing incidents such as the Rameshwaram Cafe bomb blast and the cooker bomb explosion.

"Who failed when ministers faced honeytrap attempts? It's wrong to criticize our soldiers," Ashoka said, urging Congress to refrain from commenting on matters related to national defense.

Turning his attention to domestic issues, Ashoka announced that the BJP will stage protests in Bengaluru against the price hikes implemented by the Congress government. These protests will take place for three days starting April 28, in front of all zonal commissioners' offices. The party aims to address the increases in milk, electricity, property taxes, and parking fees, in addition to the postponement of civil elections.

Ashoka also spoke about the suspension of 18 BJP MLAs, stating that discussions had been held with the Speaker and reiterated that suspensions should be limited to specific sessions.

On the issue surrounding the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) exam, Ashoka noted that the High Court had given its verdict, and reminded the public that during the Assembly session, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had promised to consider the possibility of a re-examination after the verdict.

"We will continue to monitor the government's decision and will stage further protests if necessary," Ashoka concluded, signaling that the BJP will remain vigilant on both security and local governance issues.
