Bengaluru, Apr 26: Among the nearly 35,000 enthusiastic participants set to take part in the prestigious World 10K Bengaluru race, Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya is all set to challenge himself, looking forward to completing the event with grit and determination.
Speaking about what inspired him to sign up despite his demanding schedule, the 34-year-old BJP leader said, “There are so many individuals who face far greater challenges than I do—women balancing motherhood, survivors of life-threatening illnesses like cancer—yet they continue to push their limits. They remind us to live life with hope and resilience.”

Tejasvi credits a friend's encouragement to participate in a triathlon in Goa last year for igniting his passion for endurance sports. Sharing his personal experience, he said, “Exercise gives you the biggest dopamine hit. It’s the healthiest stress buster, a shortcut to happiness, and it changes your perspective towards life.”
Describing the spirit behind taking part in endurance events, he remarked, “Running, swimming, stepping out of your comfort zone—it’s all a celebration of life. The beauty of fitness is that it’s one thing you cannot outsource. You work for it, and the results are yours alone.”
Drawing a parallel between fitness and public life, Tejasvi observed, “Nothing meaningful comes easy or quickly. Patience and perseverance are crucial. In an age of instant gratification fuelled by social media, fitness teaches us that real progress takes time. You can’t just decide to run a 10K overnight—you have to train consistently.”
Over the years, the TCS World 10K has become an iconic event in Bengaluru, nurturing a vibrant running culture and promoting community health and wellness.
Signing off with a word of encouragement, Tejasvi said, “I am eagerly looking forward to finishing the race with a respectable time. For many, this 10K will be their first step towards fitness. I urge everyone to come, enjoy the run, and embrace a healthier lifestyle. Let’s work together towards building a healthy city!”
The race will be broadcast live on Sony Sports1 and Sony Sports1 HD channels from 5:15 am onwards on Sunday, offering viewers a chance to witness Bengaluru’s vibrant running spirit.
