Puttur, May 4: In a heartwarming gesture on Labour Day, Keshava Amai, proprietor of SRK Ladders, a firm engaged in the production of agricultural equipment in Puttur, took 51 of his employees on an air trip, demonstrating his deep affection and appreciation for his workforce.

Founded 25 years ago, SRK Ladders has become known for its unique identity. Despite being visually impaired, Keshava Amai built the company step by step, overcoming challenges through sheer determination. He has always considered his employees as the cornerstone of the company’s success. Though he cannot see them physically, his perceptive understanding of their hard work has earned him admiration.

Flying in an airplane and experiencing the joy of soaring through the skies is a dream for many, especially those from modest backgrounds. Recognising this, Amai arranged a special trip for his staff as part of the Labour Day celebrations. While he himself has travelled by air several times, this time he chose to share the experience with his workers.

On May 1, he accompanied 51 employees from Puttur to Bengaluru. They first travelled to Mangaluru by bus, then flew to Bengaluru, where they visited other factories related to their company, participated in an informative session, and enjoyed an evening of music and campfire fun. The next day, they toured tourist spots in Mysuru and returned to Puttur by night, completing a joyful two-day trip.

Organising special programmes for Labour Day has been a tradition at SRK Ladders.
“My employees are like family. They have worked day and night for the company’s growth and met customer demands efficiently. I wanted to bring them joy too, so I presented a few options for Labour Day, and they chose the trip. I suggested we make it an air journey. They were thrilled,” said Keshava Amai, proprietor of SRK Ladders, Puttur.

“The flight journey was delightful and gave us a new experience. All thanks to our employer. We will always remain grateful for his love,” said Yatheesh, an SRK staff member.
