Mangaluru, May 6: District BJP president Sathish Kumpala has demanded the resignation of Assembly Speaker U T Khader, alleging that the speaker prematurely gave a clean chit to the Faasil family even before an official investigation had commenced.

Addressing the media, Kumpala stated, “The Speaker’s statement raises suspicion. U T Khader appears to have a close association with the Faasil family and seems to have exonerated them even before any formal inquiry was initiated. Why is he showing such undue concern for them?”

Kumpala further claimed that two of the eight individuals arrested in the case, Nagraj and Ranjith, are from Kalasa, and suggested that the case is being deliberately diverted. “Many, including the Speaker, seem to be part of a larger conspiracy. What is the connection between Mangaluru and Kalasa?” he questioned.

He also alleged links involving a man named Mustafa, who organized a cricket tournament in Chikkamagaluru, which was reportedly attended by U T Khader and Inayath Ali. “Mustafa owns the hotel where the murder accused held a party before the incident,” Kumpala added.

The BJP leader called for a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He also expressed suspicions that compensation funds may have been used to carry out the murder and claimed that foreign funds had reportedly been deposited into the account of one of the accused, Safwan.

He further criticized the police for their inaction, stating, “No arrests have been made so far regarding the death threats received by Sharan Pumpwell and Bharath Kumdel.”
