Gurugram Police arrest three with illegal weapons, one for mobile snatching

Gurugram, May 7: The Gurugram Police Crime Branch has arrested three individuals with illegal weapons while they were attempting to commit a robbery at gunpoint, officials said. The accused, identified as Roz Mohammad, Vishnu Sharma, and Anand Kumar residents of Bihar were apprehended near Laser Valley Park.

Police team swiftly responded to a tip-off about the robbery attempt and formed a special unit to raid the location. The officers recovered one pistol, a live cartridge, an iron rod, a knife, and a torch from the possession of the accused. A case has been registered against them under the relevant sections at the DLF Sector-29 Police Station.

Further investigation revealed that the accused had been involved in four other thefts in Gurugram. Roz Mohammad has 11 theft cases registered against him, including one under the Arms Act in Faridabad, while Anand Kumar faces seven theft cases in the region.

In a separate case, the Gurugram Police also arrested Harun, a mobile snatcher. He was caught after allegedly hitting a victim with a stone and stealing his mobile phone near Bass Chowk in Sector-7 IMT Manesar. The accused, a resident of Alwar, Rajasthan, was arrested and will be taken on police remand for further interrogation.

Both cases are under investigation, and the accused will be presented in court for further legal proceedings.
