New Delhi, May 10: India is set to field a 14-member squad for the World Athletics Relays 2025, scheduled for May 10 and 11 at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium in Guangzhou, China. This marks the seventh edition of the prestigious global event and the first time it is being hosted in China.

The competition will feature six relay events: men’s and women’s 4x100m, men’s and women’s 4x400m, and mixed 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Notably, the mixed 4x100m relay will debut at the World Relays this year.

India will compete in two categories: the men’s 4x400m and the mixed 4x400m relay. The event also serves as a qualifier for the World Athletics Championships 2025, scheduled for September in Tokyo. In each relay event—excluding the newly introduced mixed 4x100m—the top 14 teams will gain automatic entry to the World Championships, while the final two spots will be filled based on performances during the qualification period (Feb 25, 2024 – Aug 24, 2025).
