Srinagar, May 11: Despite a ceasefire agreement brokered between India and Pakistan earlier this evening, Pakistan violated the truce within hours by launching a shelling attack on Indian territory, resulting in the martyrdom of a BSF jawan and injuries to seven other soldiers.
The ceasefire was declared with US mediation, but merely three hours later, Pakistan resumed hostilities by launching an attack in the RS Pura sector of Jammu. In the shelling, BSF sub-inspector M D Mohammad Imtiyaz was martyred. Seven other soldiers sustained injuries, reports said.

The sudden attack caught Indian forces off guard, leading to multiple strikes in certain areas before a response could be mounted. This incident once again underscores the view that Pakistan cannot be considered a trustworthy neighbour.
