Bantwal, May 17: Several individuals have been detained for questioning in connection with a stabbing incident involving a resident of Akkarengadi in Panemangalore, identified as Hameed. The Bantwal Town Police are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the case.
Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police, Yatish N, visited the crime scene and carried out an inspection. He later gathered complete information about the incident and issued instructions to ensure the swift arrest of those involved.

According to police sources, there had previously been altercations between two groups over a personal issue, and there is suspicion that the recent stabbing could be a continuation of that conflict. The police have begun an investigation from multiple angles to verify this suspicion and have already taken several people into custody for questioning.
To trace the real culprits, four investigative teams have been formed under the leadership of Bantwal town police inspector Ananthapadmanabha, guided by the Bantwal DySP and as per the instructions of the SP.
Hameed, who sustained injuries in the attack, is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru and is reported to be out of danger. He had suffered a serious injury to his arm, which required surgical intervention.
The incident took place when Hameed was standing at Akkarengadi in Panemangalore. Unidentified assailants approached him on a bike, stabbed him with a knife, and fled the scene.
