Beltangady, May 18: Akanksha (22), an aerospace employee and daughter of Boliyar residents Surendra and Sindhudevi from Dharmasthala village, died under mysterious circumstances in Punjab on May 17.

According to preliminary information, she fell from the third floor and succumbed to her injuries.

She had completed her higher studies at LPU (Lovely Professional University) Phagwara in Punjab and had taken up a job as an aerospace engineer in Delhi six months ago. She was preparing to move to Germany for work and had gone to LPU Phagwara to collect her certificate. It is learned that she had spoken to her family on a call immediately after collecting the certificate.

A case has been registered at the Jalandhar police station in Punjab. Her family members have travelled to Punjab for further information.

MLA Harish Poonja met the bereaved family at the Mangaluru airport on Sunday, May 18 and offered his condolences. Akanksha’s mother reportedly urged the MLA to ensure a proper investigation, stating that her daughter could not have died by suicide and that this may be a case of murder.
