Nanded, May 26: Union home minister Amit Shah on Monday hit out at Shiv Sena (UBT) for mocking India's anti-terror diplomatic outreach, stating that Balasaheb Thackeray would have "hugged" Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the success of Operation Sindoor if he were alive.
Speaking at a ‘Shankhnaad’ rally in Maharashtra’s Nanded, Shah condemned Shiv Sena (UBT) leader's "baraat" jibe on the all-party delegations sent abroad to counter terrorism propaganda, saying, “Uddhav Sena mocks these delegations even when their own members are part of them.”

He lauded Operation Sindoor, calling it a bold message to Pakistan and the world. “This is no ordinary mission — it tells those who dare harm our army, people or borders, that India will strike back with full force. The Pahalgam attack was met with a swift and deadly response,” he said.
Shah recounted PM Modi’s previous responses to terror — surgical strikes post-Uri, airstrikes after Pulwama, and now Operation Sindoor following the Pahalgam terror attack. “Modiji has made it clear — if someone attacks, ‘Goli’ will be answered with ‘Gola’.”
He detailed that nine terror camps were destroyed within 22 minutes on May 7, while India’s air defence shield intercepted enemy missiles and drones. “Modi has vowed — if the sindoor of Indian women is harmed, our response will be even bloodier,” Shah said.
Highlighting the ongoing fight against Naxalism, he said, “Under Operation Black Forest in Chhattisgarh, 31 Naxals were eliminated at 5,000 feet altitude. So far, 36 more have been neutralised, and we aim to wipe out Naxalism by March 31, 2026.”
Shah also criticised NCP leader Sharad Pawar for not securing classical language status for Marathi, a move granted by PM Modi.
He further underlined Modi’s tough stance against Pakistan, reminding the crowd that the Prime Minister revoked the Indus Water Treaty and ended all trade ties, reiterating, “Trade and terror cannot go together.”
