Red Alert in Kasargod: Schools closed for two days, quarry operations and tourist entry banned

Kasargod, May 29: In view of the heavy rainfall and red alert declared in the district for May 29 and 30, district commissioner K Impashekar has ordered a two-day holiday for schools as a precautionary measure.

The holiday applies to professional educational institutions, special classes, tuition centers, Anganwadis, madrasas, and similar establishments. However, pre-scheduled examinations will be conducted as usual.

Additionally, all quarry operations in the district have been suspended during the red alert period. The district administration has also imposed a ban on entry to tourist spots, including beaches and locations like Ranipur, until further notice.
