Mumbai, May 29: Celebrated singer Papon captivated music lovers in Mumbai with a surprise performance of an unreleased song from the upcoming Anurag Basu film Metro In Dino. The impromptu rendition came during the launch of the track Zamaana Lage, leaving fans mesmerised and curious about the yet-to-be-titled number.

Known for his heartfelt vocals in tracks like Moh Moh Ke Dhaage and Jiyein Kyun, Papon shared that his collaboration with music maestro Pritam on Metro In Dino was far from routine. “This wasn’t just a recording—it felt like a musical workshop. Every day brought something new—melodies, lyrics, even script changes,” he revealed, highlighting the fluid and creative process behind the soundtrack.

The emotional depth and spontaneity of the music-making journey stood out for Papon, who admitted that he lost count of how many songs he ended up singing for the film. “It’s been one of the most creatively liberating experiences I’ve had,” he said.

Adding another layer to his involvement, Papon also features in the music video of Zamaana Lage. “Being on camera for this film was a very personal and emotional journey. It felt like we were living the music, not just performing it,” he said.

The musical magic comes under the seasoned partnership of Anurag Basu and Pritam, who previously delivered hits with films like Gangster (2006). Metro In Dino, slated to release on July 4, 2025, promises to be a poignant exploration of modern relationships, set against the bustling backdrop of urban India.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. With anticipation building around its music and narrative, Metro In Dino is shaping up to be one of the most awaited releases of the year.
