Headless body found in Thane; murder probe launched

Thane, May 30: Tension gripped Nalimbi village in Ambernath area of Thane district after a headless body of a man was discovered on Thursday morning, prompting police to launch a murder investigation.

A passerby alerted the authorities after stumbling upon the gruesome sight. The deceased, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, remains unidentified, police said.

The Kalyan taluka police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103(1) for murder and 238 for causing disappearance of evidence. An in-depth probe has been initiated to trace the victim's identity and nab the accused.
