Udupi, Jun 9: A young woman from a small village in Udupi district has proven that determination and dedication can lead to the achievement of even the most ambitious dreams. Seema Tendulkar, daughter of Sadananda Nayak and Jayashree Tendulkar from the tiny village of Pernankila, has been selected as a pilot in the Indian Navy.

From a young age, Seema harboured the dream of joining the Indian Armed Forces. With relentless focus, she turned this childhood aspiration into a reality. She completed her primary and high school education at a private school in Hiriadka, followed by pre-university studies at a Karkala college. She then pursued an engineering degree in Bengaluru.

Despite her academic focus on engineering, her heart remained with the Indian military. Clearing the direct interview conducted by the Armed Forces, she was selected as a Sub Lieutenant in the Indian Navy. She is currently undergoing training at the Indian Naval Academy in Kerala.

Seema’s father is a farmer, and her mother serves as the vice-principal at a private school. During her college years, Seema actively participated in NCC and was selected to represent Karnataka in the Guard of Honour segment at the Republic Day Parade in 2022.

“I always wanted to join the Indian Armed Forces since childhood. That is why I joined the NCC. Participating in the Republic Day Parade intensified my dream, and now that it has come true, I feel extremely happy,” said Seema Tendulkar.
