Sheel Verma recalls heartwarming summer vacation memories

Mumbai, Jun 9: With summer vacations in full swing, many of us can relate to that bittersweet thrill of heading back to school after weeks of carefree play. Actor Sheel Verma, who currently plays Jaiveer in the popular show Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain, recently shared his own cherished memories of summer holidays.

Reminiscing about those carefree days, Sheel fondly recalled, “I can still picture myself playing cricket endlessly during the summer break. We’d play until the sun set, and even then, it was hard to stop. My mom had to call me home several times before I’d finally trudge back, dusty but happy.”

He added, “My cousins and I would wander the neighborhood, climb trees, and invent games in every hidden corner. Vacation homework was always an afterthought — I’d only remember to start it when the holidays were almost over!”

But for Sheel, summer was more than just playtime — it was also about the anticipation of a new school year. “Once June arrived, there was a special buzz in the air,” he shared. “I used to go shopping with my dad for new school uniforms, a tiffin box, books, and even a raincoat and rainy shoes.”

Even though the end of the break sometimes brought a tinge of sadness, the excitement of reuniting with friends and flaunting brand-new stationery made it all worthwhile. “Walking to school with my friends in the rain was one of the simplest yet happiest moments of my childhood,” he smiled. “Even now, just thinking about those days brings a huge smile to my face. If I had the chance to relive those moments, I would do so in a heartbeat.”

Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain airs Monday to Saturday at 9:00 pm on Shemaroo Umang.
