‘Tiger vs Pathaan’ still on: Sources dismiss shelving rumours

New Delhi, Jun 10: Putting an end to widespread speculation, it has been confirmed that Bollywood's much-anticipated action spectacle Tiger vs Pathaan, featuring superstar duo Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, has not been shelved. Industry insiders have clarified that the film remains firmly in the pipeline, brushing aside earlier media reports that suggested otherwise.

The confusion emerged after Salman Khan, earlier this year, remarked that the project was "not happening at the moment", leading to a flurry of assumptions about the film’s future. The buzz intensified when a report by an entertainment portal claimed the film had been shelved — a report that was soon taken down, further fuelling speculation.

However, sources have now confirmed that the claims are false and that Tiger vs Pathaan is still very much a part of Yash Raj Films’ expanding spy universe. The franchise began with Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, followed by sequels Tiger Zinda Hai and Tiger 3, where he portrayed RAW agent Avinash Singh Rathore, known as ‘Tiger’. Shah Rukh Khan entered the spy universe with Pathaan in 2023, a mega hit that also featured Salman in a memorable cameo, laying the groundwork for a thrilling crossover.

Apart from this high-voltage collaboration, YRF is also progressing with other entries in the spy universe, including War 2 and Alpha, the latter starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh.

The reunion of Shah Rukh and Salman in Tiger vs Pathaan has generated enormous excitement among fans, especially after their earlier iconic films like Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam.

While Salman Khan’s most recent release Sikandar did not live up to expectations, Shah Rukh Khan’s last outing Dunki garnered appreciation. He is now set to appear in King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Despite the delay, fans can rest assured that Tiger vs Pathaan is not cancelled and remains one of Bollywood’s most awaited cinematic events.
